Planetary BoulevardsAbout this section..... On
this page, we will highlight a planet in a sign as it affects the collective
consciousness. It can be very interesting to track developments. For example,
Pluto is coming close to the end of its journey in Sagittarius.
Pluto digs out the dirt in the closet and lays the skeletons on the front
lawn. Its mission is to bring truth to the surface, and in Sagittarius,
which rules law, education, fanaticism, and religion, we have seen some
disturbing realities in these areas. In 1995, when Pluto was just beginning
to nudge into Sagittarius, we witnessed the spectacle of the O. J. Simpson
trial. We saw one dark underpinning of the United States judicial system
- that money buys the best justice. In education, we have seen a Missouri
teacher unsupported by a school board when she insisted on academic integrity
from her students, and we have seen a Princeton University dean fired
for unauthorized access to a Yale University database. We have witnessed
the underbelly of the horror of terror in public schools, and are now
seeing sweeping reforms in public education, both at the national and
state levels. Will these reforms have lasting value and ultimately improve
education? We'll probably know more by the time Pluto enters Capricorn
and shows us some realities around institutions. We have witnessed the
worst horror of religious dogmatism in the Middle East, and through events
that led to the attacks of September 11, 2001. Also hitting very close
to home was the shocking and far-reaching expose of sexual abuses of Catholic
priests. Pluto's work in Sagittarius has certainly brought some sobering lessons regarding Sagittarian themes. |

Pluto in CapricornPosted 01/20/2008
Pluto, the planet of death and rebirth, is poised for a big shift on Friday, January 25 at 10:45 PM EST. He will be leaving fiery Sagittarius where he’s stirred the pot in law, education, and religion. When Pluto first entered Sagittarius, we witnessed the underbelly of the justice system in the US as O.J. Simpson went on trial for murdering his ex-wife. It’s interesting that as Pluto is ready to leave Sagittarius that Simpson is once again in the news for breaking the law. Watch for more on him as Pluto backtracks into Sagittarius in June before it reenters Capricorn on November 26. While Pluto has been in Sagittarius, we also saw the underbelly of the Catholic Church and how some of its officials had abused trust and power by sexually abusing children and covering it up. We have seen attempts at reform in education in the USA through the “No Child Left Behind” law and states’ creating their own sets of educational standards. It hardly appears that this work is finished.
Since Pluto is about change and Capricorn is about structure, it may very well be that Pluto in Capricorn will have a hand in the restructuring of institutions in government, religion, and education to finish the work of Pluto in Sagittarius. Capricorn, in its highest expression, insists on integrity and responsibility. Pluto in Capricorn will likely bring about significant exposure regarding lack of integrity among management of institutions. We may witness some shocking news about mismanagement of the most trusted institutions we have relied on. No doubt Pluto in Capricorn will deliver some deep restructuring to areas of stability and tradition as it transforms institutions as we have known them. Economic and financial arenas, governments, and educational institutions will have to take on greater responsibility and accountability for their actions.
However, as institutions will be required to show more accountability, integrity and responsibility, so will individuals. Self-reliance is a Capricorn concern, and Pluto in Capricorn is not likely to tolerate victim mentality and blaming of others. Pluto in Capricorn will want us to find new ways of structuring our own personal power to help us achieve our goals. Those who have relied on others for support may find that their sources are lost, and they, in turn, discover new ways of achieving self-empowerment. We may, on individual levels, prove ourselves to ourselves through our own solo efforts by applying Capricornian iron will and determination to shape a place for ourselves in the world. No excuses. |
