In the astrological sky, Pluto, Neptune, and Uranus are three planets that
play the most pivotal roles in the lives of human beings and the changes they experience. These planets are the
transpersonal forces which instigate change, through intense, inner, astrological
weather, that often stretches individuals far beyond their known limits
of understanding, if individuals are pliable enough and sensitive enough
to receive their instructions and promptings. The influence of these planets
is most immediately felt during their transits through an individual chart.
For instance, in the astrological sky through January 25, 2008, Pluto is at 29 Sagittarius. Pluto will move into Capricorn on January 25 and then hover at 00 - 01 Capricorn until mid-June. This means that in any natal chart, planets located within 27 Sagittarius to 01 Capricorn are being hit once again by the Plutonian force of intense change, death and rebirth, and shock. Those who have planets in the very early degrees of Aries, Cancer, and Libra will also be feeling the forces of Plutonian change. Whatever Pluto touches by transit is altered at its core. It's as if Pluto delivers a message to the planetary force (and what it represents in the life of the individual), and declares,
"Okay, it's time to change, to radically alter the way you've been living, to put an end to something that has outlived its usefulness and now imprisons you. In fact, it's time to awaken you to the fact that you are imprisoned and actually appear to enjoy the psychological prison you are trapped in, simply because it's familiar, and believe it or not, because a part of you is attracted to unnecessary suffering. Now, you can work with me in the process of creating alchemical change that sets you free, or I can drag you to freedom while you kick and squawk and argue for your ancient habits of suffering. What's it gonna be?" Pluto transits create tornadic astrological weather wherein old habits are uprooted from the core of your being and thrown onto the screen of your conscious awareness. Lo and behold, you get a sacred glimpse of deeply woven psychological and emotional habits shaped before you were conscious. In these moments of vivid awareness, a doorway of choice creaks open, and you are challenged to walk forward into the unknown, where, if you are courageous, you can create new habits that allow for greater awareness, freedom, compassion, and sanity to ensue. Or, you can return to time worn habits of negativity that spin down the Karmic highway of your repeated suffering and misery. Likewise, Neptune, which delivers tremendous waves of change (imagine a huge tidal wave sweeping over you), and Uranus, which delivers sudden shocks of change (imagine lightning riveting your astrological chart), are incredibly important to track through your natal chart. Neptune is at 21 - 22 degrees of Aquarius today and sweeping over planets located at in natal charts at 19 - 24 degrees of Leo, Taurus, Scorpio and Aquarius. As of January 1, 2008, Uranus retrograde is at 15 Pisces and activating planets at 13 - 17 degrees of Pisces, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Gemini. Uranus will be moving forward to reach 22 Pisces before it retrogrades beginning on June 27, 2008. Like Pluto transits, Neptune and Uranus transits represent the inner workings of your Soul and their attempts to move you towards greater freedom of expression, toward more sensitive attunement to yourself and others, and toward clearer awareness of when you are responding to life like a robot, rather than a conscious human being.
