Saturn Op Uranus

Postby chrysalis » Wed Oct 22, 2008 2:08 pm

Hey everybody!
I was just checking out that Saturn/Uranus opposition that occurs on the US Election Day. I noticed that Saturn was also conj. my natal Pluto by 4 degrees and then realized that it would be conj. Pluto of most of my generation! :shock: Coincidence? I think not. I knew intellectually that this election is crucial to the success or failure of the U.S. but since the stars also point to deep transformation, I hope the winner of the election has the best interest of the American people at heart. Anyone else have a take on this transit?
Ya''ll take care!

Chrysalis,

I certainly do hope that the winner is the most effective and sincere leader to help this nation get through these difficult times, to say the least! No matter who wins, the job is going to be very difficult. I have concerns about both tickets. And with the vagaries of public mood....

What's very interesting about the election day is not only the exact Saturn - Uranus opposition, but also that we have the Moon void-of-course until 7:01 PM EST. Mars squares Neptune that day as Mercury enters Scorpio. At any rate, the Saturn - Uranus opposition certainly represents the face-off between the traditional and conservative against change and innovation;
I think the task is to find a comfortable balance between stability and change. It's interesting that both candidates chose running mates to try to counterbalance the Saturnian quality of McCain and the Uranian quality of Obama. On personal levels, we're probably going to be challenged to balance discipline and responsibility with more freedom of expression or vice versa. Maybe we're to put into concrete form (Saturn) new, innovative ideas (Uranus). Both McCain and Obama have this opposition activating their 1st and 7th houses. Right now Obama is ahead in the polls, but in a few days McCain will have transiting Venus entering his 10th, which is likely to give him a boost. Could be a real squeeker.. and with the Moon void-of-course during most of the voting time.... will the results of the vote come to fruition?

Yes, the void moon is certainly an interesting aspect, Beth! :? I hope it's not an indicator that the election will not give us a winner that will promote the change the country is longing for ... or perhaps it will be too close to have a winner! Has there ever been a tie for a presidential election?! haha I guess anything is possible! Thanks for giving me that link. I do like that website but I haven't visited in a while.
Take care!

Apparently 1800 brought a contentious election. lol

A tie of the Electoral College is sent to the House. Let's hope this doesn't happen. ;)

love this thread and insights! november 4 is my birthday and i remember that birthday feeling SO important to me. my goodness the news, media, nation, and globe had hyped up november 4 in the US to the nth degree for months with such intensity! everytime i turned on the news for months, well over six months they would have "countdown to november 4". talk about pressure to have a commemorative birthday on a tuesday of all days that could live up to hype! so funny! personally, i did feel like was on a precipice of big personal change that day, too. i remember it vividly. yup, me and my pal saturn, too.
